Metal 3D Printing - The Next Phase

Wednesday 24 May - 1:30 pm

Metal 3D printing has been around for many years.  Often seen as a tool for prototyping and production in high end industries such as medical and aerospace, metal 3D printing is fast becoming a competitive method for a wide range of industries.  To maximise the potential there still some considerations to take into account but the tipping point to economically employ metal 3D printing is reducing.  As with every tool you need some basic understanding to deploy its use successfully.

About the Presenter:

Warwick Downing has been involved in metal 3D printing since 2008. He was part of the team that set up the first machine in NZ and continues to work extensively in the metal 3D printing arena. Warwick was one of the core members who established TDA Limited (formerly the Titanium Industry Development Association) and led the new organisation from its inception until 2016. In 2013 Warwick started RAM3D with a group of like-minded shareholders, to grow the commercial opportunities created by the growth of the metal 3D printing sector. Warwick will present cost effective production using metal 3D printing and will draw from a vast number of examples he's produced for a variety of clients.
